What I've Learned in 2 Weeks

Here are some things I've learned in my first two weeks as a mom...

Preston will put his hand in his mouth 17 million times while I'm trying to feed him.

I can survive without sleep. I cannot always be super nice to my mother-in-law while running on empty, however.

Taking each day by itself, without any sort of routine or schedule is not freeing to me - it is extremely difficult. Days have been much easier once I started letting go of my self-imposed time constraints. If all I accomplish in a day is feeding my baby, then I still did something good!

Also, just a question - why the HELL doesn't anyone give you a heads up on the recovery process after having a baby??? I was informed about delivery and somewhat about taking care of a baby, but I was completely unprepared for what the female body goes through after that baby comes out!

What words of wisdom do you other moms have to share?
